Fiserv has appointed Takis Georgakopoulos, former global head of payments at JPMorgan Chase, as a senior advisor, EVP and member of the management team.
the appointment comes weeks after news that Georgakopoulos is leaving JPMorgan after 17 years at the Wall Street giant.
At payments company Fiserv, he will work closely with management to “achieve positive customer outcomes and deliver best-in-class technology across the company,” the statement said.
Fiserv CEO Frank Bisignano says, “Takis’ extensive payments and management experience and operational expertise will be a great addition to our strong team as we continue to focus on creating value for our customers while investing in our products, services and people.”.
JPMorgan’s payments business flourished under Georgakopoulos. It handled $10 trillion a day and generated $2.4 billion in revenue in the first quarter — more than investment banking.
